Rodtang Jitmuangnon
"The Iron Man"
Biography
Born Tinnakorn Srisawat in Phatthalung province, Rodtang began training Muay Thai at age 7 to help support his family from poverty — making his professional debut at 10 years old. The path from a small gym in rural Phatthalung to the global stage defined him: he relocated to Bangkok's legendary Jitmuangnon Gym and went on to reign as ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion for over 1,900 days — the longest reign in the title's history with nine successful defenses. Known for an iron chin, relentless forward pressure, and an intimidating Muay Mat style based on punches and body attacks, 'The Iron Man' became ONE Championship's most beloved Thai fighter and one of the most internationally recognizable combat sports names to come out of Thailand. His 2025 first-round KO of Japanese kickboxing icon Takeru Segawa at ONE 172 in Saitama became one of the most-replayed finishes of the year. A contract dispute with ONE Championship in 2026 led him to compete at ONE Samurai 1, where he suffered a TKO loss to Segawa in a high-profile rematch, but his global fanbase and cultural impact remain undiminished.

vs. Demetrious Johnson
ONE X — Singapore Indoor Stadium • Mar 26, 2022
In one of the most unique bouts in ONE Championship history, Rodtang entered a special rules contest against MMA legend Demetrious Johnson — round one under Muay Thai rules, round two under MMA rules. Rodtang delivered exactly as expected in round one, staggering 'Mighty Mouse' with his trademark forward pressure and sharp punches. But when the MMA ruleset kicked in, Johnson shot for a takedown and locked in a rear-naked choke that Rodtang had no defensive answer for. The loss was a moment of pure honesty: on the feet he is elite, on the ground he is a beginner — and the global MMA community loved him for accepting the challenge anyway.

The Denver crowd — many seeing him live for the first time — gave him a thunderous reception that signaled how his appeal had transcended Asia.

He absorbed early crisp punches from Takeru with his trademark chin and composure, closed the distance, and landed a single left hook that put Japan's kickboxing icon unconscious on the canvas at 59 seconds.
